In my last post I mentioned possession of thought as apposed to what the spiritualists call ‘trance mediumship’ or full possession You see, even the mediums cannot disagree with the fact this is possession because they give up their own bodies for another entity to take over. As a medium I was able to experience a semi possessive state very similar to what Blossom Goodchild does with her demonic federadtion of hell… ok, she believes the messengers, the angels… yes angels, fallen ones.
So, getting back to my original point (appologies for the scattiness of this post) I mentioned previously about ‘foriegn unwanted’ thoughts and unwated anger towards God. These are the firey darts that we are warned about in ephesians 6:16 “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” Without faith in Christ we at the very least at risk of subtle possession.
Hypnosis was born out out of Mesmerism. Franz Anton Mesmer (May 23, 1734 – March 5, 1815), sometimes, albeit incorrectly, referred to as Friedrich Anton Mesmer, was a German physician with an interest in astronomy, who theorised that there was a natural energetic transference that occurred between all animated and inanimate objects that he called magnétisme animal (animal magnetism) and other spiritual forces often grouped together as mesmerism. The evolution of Mesmer’s ideas and practices led Scottish surgeon James Braid to develop hypnosis in 1842. Mesmer’s name is the root of the English verb “mesmerize”.
The main part of hypnosis is the distract the alert part of the human mind by getting the client (patient) to concentrate on one thing only, i.e. stare at a door handle. Whilst the client is distracted the hypnotist continues to vocalise suggestions of deep relaxation and tiredness. Eventually the client (in most cases) enters a light trance known as the alpha state. This is the equivalent to the period of just waking up in the morning then falling back to sleep. The client is passive and open to suggestion.
Now hold that thought… the client is passive and open to suggestion. This is the state when we are vulnerable to casual possession or possession of tought. This is why we are told only to meditate on scripture therefore we are protected by the Word of God.
Saying that, if you find that during a state of relaxation you are experiencing unwated thoughts then I suggest you take hold, accept this is likely to be a spiritual attack (most spiritual events are subtle) and rebuke the demons in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ… yes, OUR Lord.
